Dr. Ian Bell, DDS
Location: Gladstone
Growing up, Dr. Bell’s imagination ran wild with two dream career choices: running an amusement park full of dinosaurs or becoming a dentist. Since discovering Jurassic Park was only a movie and not a career option, the choice became easy to make. Dr. Bell earned his dental degree from the University of Iowa, where he learned a lot about dentistry, but also learned he no longer enjoyed cold winters that never seemed to end. Drawn to the natural beauty and abundance of donuts in the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Bell initially relocated to Seattle where he worked as a general dentist for two years. It was during this time that Dr. Bell discovered his passion for working with children. At the encouragement of a couple friends who were pediatric dentists, Dr. Bell applied to and was accepted into the pediatric dental residency program at Oregon Health & Science University. Following graduation in 2019, Dr. Bell worked at offices owned by assistant professors at OHSU before joining Honeymint in 2024.
While not working, Dr. Bell’s adventures are fueled by curiosity and an obscene amount of coffee. He loves to hike and camp with his wife Asiya, read, obsessively do crosswords, and build furniture. A lover of music and movies, Dr. Bell finds himself going to many concerts and theaters around Portland. He also has a great passion for travel stemming largely from his nomadic upbringing as part of a military family. But for the most part, Dr. Bell is happy hanging around Portland, meeting new people, and spending time at home with his wife and bread-addicted cat, Chidi.
